Emily is an instructor for the Youth Apprenticeship Program in Biotechnology at the BTC Institute.

Emily Torio (she/her) received her B.S in Microbiology and M.S. in Biotechnology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with additional certificates in Global Health, Gender and Women’s Studies, and Stem Cell Technologies.

Emily has worked as a research scientist at Promega Corporation since 2015 and currently works within the Clinical Technologies Group where she integrates Promega technologies into custom clinical assays.

Emily is a 2014 alumna of Dane County School Consortium (DCSC) Youth Apprenticeship Program in Biotechnology, where she previously worked in a biochemistry lab focused on protein production and purification for multiple years.

Emily is a member of the American Association of Clinical Chemists.
